  • 8601-8799 Golf Links Rd Oakland, CA, 94605, USA - Toler Heights

The stretch of Golf Links Rd., along the Holy Redeemer property fence line (*below is a drop down menu option only, so I clicked it is Public property, as it is City of Oakland Right of Way, and not sure who owns the Holy Redeemer Property, but this stretch is never maintained, overgrown with weeds and LOTS of Poison Oak along walking pathway - between Blandon Rd. and Glenly (closer to Blandon corner, across street), there remains a huge debris pile left from the huge Eucalyptus tree that blew over Golf Links Rd. back in February windstorm. The whole top of the tree is left hanging over the pathway in another tree, and a pile of limbs below blocking the walkway, SO hazardous as there is a lot of traffic (pedestrians, bicycles designated path, and fast cars at this blind curve) and NO sidewalk on either side of Golf Links Rd here. This has been reported several times to PWA and Oak 311, by at least two of my neighbors also, since the tree fell back in February - blocked Golf Links Rd and broke the telephone pole causing power outage - She spoke with Larry Reid and the Tree Division Supervisor in Feb, who said they would cut down the split tree trunks that blew over (which they did not finish even cutting below the cracks!), and that they'd then be back in a week or two to clean up the debris. This has now been 4 months, the tree is dead and dried up, such a FIRE HAZARD!

PLEASE can PWA get out and chainsaw this large Eucalyptus top away??
(and whack back the weeks and Poison Oak all in the walking pathway?)

*Below is a drop down menu option only, I'm putting YES because I see people every day having to walk around this pile of debris into traffic lane, as there is NO sidewalk, and a lot of fast traffic at a blind curve.

  • Mountain Blvd Oakland, California, 94605 - Redwood Heights
Acres of dead cut vegetation lying in layers at Monte Vista Villas, vacant lot between Monte Vista Villas and 7400A and 7400B Mountain Boulevard with several neglected eucalyptus trees.
The vegetation is all along the sidewalk in front of that vacant lot making walking on the sidewalk difficult to walk an as it is slippery under foot.
The grounds at the Friendship Church has the same dead vegettion lyig in layers.
All of this vegetation needed to be raked and removed from all of these locations ahead of hot windy weather usually experienced in this area in September/October.
The fear is just one errant cigarette end or other cause of fire will lead to a catastrophic situation.
Nearby Buchalter Parkoff Edwards adjacent to the above described area has very high dry weeds and grass that also ufgently needs to be attended to.
I contacted the Vegetation Management Office with my concerns about these situations _BEFORE the inspections. The inspections have taken place and this serious threat to our neighbourhood still pertains. I again called the Vegetation Management Office to draw attention - no reply and an instruction to "not leave a message. HELP!
    The same cut and dead
  • 2524 76th Ave Oakland CA 94605, United States - Eastmont

  • 4500 Camden St Oakland, CA, 94619, USA - Maxwell Park

There is little to no fence shielding their yard from the street so you can clearly see the weed overgrowth from their backyard spilling on to the street. It is getting out of control and has been unkempt for almost a year.

Behind the weeds towards the backside of their property is a pile of wood that appears to be serving no purpose and poses a fire hazard directly next to an electrical line.

Finally, the tree from their backyard has grown over their back fence and is now almost touching the street of Storer Avenue. This area of Storer Ave. has become a magnet for suspicious car activity due to covering the tree creates.
