Description
One of the neighbors didnt like that random people were parking in front of his house and looking at the view so he put up fake no parking signs. Those were ordered to be removed but he left one up anyways. Then he put these orange traffic blockers and blocked a dozen parking spots.

Assuming this is true.
Maybe there is reasoning.

Yes, there are a lot of reasons. The person who originally published this probably doesn't live too close to this open space and probably is unaware that people who do live nearby cannot sleep at night because of blasting rap music, loud partying and loud arguments, The visitors regularly leave fast food trash and other garbage, including used condoms, beer and liquor bottles and cans, blankets, boxes, broken furniture. Cars are vandalized or smashed into by drunk drivers. It's pretty frightening whenever these visitors who come to enjoy the beautiful view get drunk and loud.
The construction barriers are a welcome deterrent to these threats to quality of life. They facilitate a normal life and a good night's sleep.
Does the poster come to clean the trash and tidy up the area after the late-night activities? No, it's left for the immediate neighbors.
Unfortunately, OPD does not respond to our phone calls (to either 911 or 311) although they are well aware of this problem.
Will our houses be broken into next by these visitors? We are really thankful to and supportive of whoever deployed these barriers. I hope our voices will be heard by whoever posted this anonymously.
One more thing: the City of Oakland must pay attention to this area for another significant reason: the condition of the road. The street is sinking, and our houses are sliding down approximately one inch every year. This is the real problem.
To the anonymous poster of this report: You are welcome to come out of the shadows and talk to the neighbors who are most impacted by this.

Mr/Ms anonymous user…..
As for other neighbors nothing is stopping anyone from walking and enjoying the view.
The issue isn’t “regular” people or neighbors/
mr/Ms anonymous didn’t care to read & comprehend the concerns of other fellow neighbors who are directly affected.

I respect your opinion and concern about parking spots, but not that fact that people in our neighborhood has to live with fear and be surrounded by trash!
And what do you mean “regular people”? I consider myself a regular person, but according to you the lovers of the beautiful view are VIPs! And as a regular resident of Oakland, paying high property tax and all the other fees, I would like to sleep well in a safe and quiet area.
Whoever you are please step up and talk to us and you will be very surprised to find out how many people support these barriers.
