I don't doubt your good intentions, but a couple of points. First, pathologizing homelessness, and invoking social services "magical matrix" for the dubious classification of mental illness are both extremely problematic. You might not appreciate a similar visit from partially uninformed, professionally incompetent social service folk with or without a law enforcement contingent. Homelessness is somtimes a respite from the mental health system, which maintains its income flow while providing essentially nothing but drugs and social stigma and perpetual poverty to "treat" conditions it has no science based understanding of or treatment for. One basic treatment that has some success is to remove the negative stimulus (poverty, criminal victimization, etc.) and treat underlying nonpsychiatric illness. Thank you. :)
